Hey, I’m Thea! I grew up in the Hudson Valley, where I learned to speak Spanish first with my grandmother and later in school. I graduated from Occidental College with a BA in Spanish Language and Literature and a minor in Visual Art. My working background includes community organizing, public outreach, translation, design, and dual-language education. I found my way to Mi Casita while searching for a position at the intersection of community work, art, and Spanish—tools I see as integral to social change—and am energized by educating through artistic expression, exploration, play, and an environment of respect and appreciation for little minds. When not at school, I work as a licensed tattoo artist and relish gardening, cooking for loved ones, filling endless sketchbooks, and lounging with my three cats.
